This standard breathing tape is a critical component for any multiwall (channel) polycarbonate installation. It is specifically designed to seal the bottom ends of the panels, providing a “breathable” barrier that keeps your sheets clear and structurally sound for years.

Why Use Breathing Tape?

Polycarbonate sheets naturally develop internal condensation due to temperature changes between day and night. If the bottom of the sheet is sealed with a solid, non-breathable tape, this moisture becomes trapped. Over time, this leads to:

Installation Recommendation:

For a professional and long-lasting roof:

1. Apply Solid Aluminum Tape to the top (higher) edge of the sheets to block rain and dust.
2. Apply this Breathing Tape to the bottom (lower) edge of the sheets to allow drainage.
3. Important: Always protect the tape by installing an U-Profile over it. This prevents the tape from being damaged by wind, rain, or birds and ensures the adhesive lasts for the life of the roof.
