Cookies Policy

Last updated: 27/10/2025

This Cookie Policy explains how BMP Distribution Ltd (“BMP Garden”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://bmpgarden.ie. It covers the categories of cookies we use, the purposes, your choices, and how to manage consent and settings.

  1. What are cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They enable core functionality, remember preferences, help us analyze site usage, and, with your consent, support advertising and personalization. We may also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, and server‑side tracking.

  2. How we use cookies
We group cookies into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary: Required for the site to work (security, load balancing, cart, checkout, account, bot protection). These cannot be switched off.
  • Functional (preferences): Remember your settings and choices to provide a better, more personal experience.
  • Analytics (statistics): Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve performance and content. Used only with your consent.
  • Marketing (advertising): Enable ad delivery, measurement, remarketing, and personalization across platforms. Used only with your consent.
  1. Your choices and consent
When you first visit our site, our banner lets you:
  • Accept all cookies
  • Reject non‑essential cookies
  • Manage preferences by category

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “Cookie Settings” in the footer or reopening the cookie banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; however, some features (cart, checkout, login) may not function properly without cookies.

  1. Google Consent Mode v2
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Before you give consent, Google receives limited, cookieless pings and analytics/advertising cookies are not set. After consent, GA4/Google Ads tags may activate according to your choices. Consent signals we use:
  • analytics_storage (Analytics)
  • ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization (Marketing/Ads)

  • WooCommerce session and functionality (e.g., woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_*): maintain cart and checkout; first‑party; session to ~2 days.
  • Security/bot protection (e.g., reCAPTCHA cookies like _GRECAPTCHA, rc::a/b/c, if enabled on forms): protect forms and prevent abuse; provider: Google LLC.

B. Functional (preferences)

  • Preference cookies: remember options like login state, language, or display settings.

    • _gid (stores a unique value for 24 hours)
Provider: Google LLC. Purpose: measure traffic, pages visited, and user interactions to improve the website. Activated only after you grant Analytics consent in our banner.

E. Tag management

  • Google Tag Manager (GTM): GTM itself does not set cookies; it loads and controls tags based on your consent choices.

Note: Cookie names and lifetimes above are common examples. Providers may change their cookies and durations over time. We will update this policy when we make material changes to our tools.
